what they don't tell you

the free overnight bhasma aarti counter was permanently closed in april 2026 — the advance window dropped from three months to one, and tatkal moved online at 300 slots a day, 8am, rs 200. almost every guide still describes the old system, and agents are quoting rs 3,000-4,000 for the rs 200 pass. free chalit darshan does still exist: a moving queue through the kartikeya mandapam, no booking, no fee, and no commission in it for anyone, which is exactly why nobody writes about it.
